What is the Inagi City Family Support Center Project?

The Inagi City Family Support Center project is a mutual aid activity within the community where user members who want assistance with parenting and activity members who want to provide parenting support help each other in raising children.
We assist with children's pick-up and drop-off as well as short-term childcare.

Eligibility

  • For those who want to receive Parenting support (member users)
    Parents or Guardians living in Inagi City with children from 4 months old to 6th grade in elementary school
  • Those who want to provide support for Parenting (active members)
    Residents of Inagi City aged 20 and over who are willing to assist with parenting
    Note: Activities will commence after attending the training course for active members.

You can also become a member of both as a user member and an activity member.

How to Use

  1. Please make a reservation by phone or email with the Inagi City Family Support Center office before visiting. After receiving an explanation about membership, you can register as a member. (Annual fee: 500 yen. Renewed every April.)
    Note: Active members must register as members after attending the training workshop.
  2. The advisor of the Inagi City Family Support Center office will adjust and introduce activity members according to the requests and desired usage times of the user members.
  3. A preliminary meeting will be held with user members and activity members to confirm the details of the assistance, usage time, etc., and to start the activities.

Activities will be conducted at locations where children's safety can be ensured, such as members' homes and public facilities, depending on the content.

  • Note: Single-Parent Families, Public Assistance Households, Households Exempt from Municipal Resident Tax, Double Care Burden Households, and Families with Children with Disabilities or Multiple Births can use the service between 5 AM and 10 PM.
  • Note: In addition to the usage fee mentioned above, there may be additional costs for meals, transportation, etc.
  • Note: If multiple children from the same household are entrusted to the same activity member, the fee for the second and subsequent children will be half price.

Subsidy for Inagi City Family Support Center Usage Fees

The city provides partial subsidies for usage fees to households with postpartum depression, multiple births, Public Assistance, low income, children with disabilities, and disaster-affected households.

Benefits of Free Early Childhood Education

Due to the free early childhood education and childcare program, the city will provide subsidies for usage fees to those who have been certified for childcare by the city.

Targeted for active members

Family Support Meister Program

Members who complete all sessions of the 24-hour activity member training course and are certified as Family Support Meisters will receive additional activity fees from the city.

Family Support Center Activity Member Transportation Cost Subsidy Project

To reduce the burden of transportation costs for active members, the city will partially subsidize transportation costs.

Eligibility
  1. Actual expenses for using public transportation (train, bus, etc.) to travel to and from the activity start (end) location from the homes of active members.
  2. The cost of parking (up to 600 yen) at a parking area recognized within the utilization area (within 1 km from the activity location) when traveling by private car to an activity start (end) location that is more than 2 km away from the activity member's home on foot.
Conditions
  1. The use of public transportation should be from the homes of active members to the start (end) location of activities, moving at the lowest fare that matches the activity hours, and not deviating from the route. However, if you continue to travel after the activity ends to assist other member users, those transportation costs will also be eligible for assistance.
  2. Either the starting location or the ending location of the activity must be within the city, and the range of the starting (ending) location must be within the city or adjacent cities (Tama City, Fuchu City, Chofu City, Kawasaki City Tama Ward, Kawasaki City Asao Ward).
  3. It is not the transportation cost that the user members are responsible for as a usage fee.

    • Transportation expenses incurred during activities
    • Gasoline and parking fees when using a private car of an activity member for activities
