Maternal Health Checkup

(Note) Regarding the Health Checkup tickets for maternal health checkups and 1-month infant health checkups, there is a possibility of receiving the checkup on or after October 1, 2026. For those who submitted a pregnancy notification by March 31, 2026, the Health Checkup tickets will be mailed in late June.

(Note) For those who submit a pregnancy notification on or after April 1, 2024, the Health Checkup ticket will be issued at the service counter.

(Note) Even if you have a Health Checkup ticket on hand, any checkups received by September 30, 2024, will be at your own expense.

Maternal health checkups are conducted around 2 weeks and 1 month postpartum to assess the health of mothers shortly after childbirth, including the recovery of physical functions, breastfeeding status, and mental health condition.

Public Subsidy for Maternal Health Checkup Expenses

Inagi City provides partial subsidies for the costs of maternal health checkups conducted at commissioned medical institutions within Tokyo.
To receive the subsidy, a "Maternal Health Checkup Consultation Ticket" is required.

Two Maternal Health Checkup Consultation Tickets are provided so that the maternal health checkup can be received twice, approximately at 2 weeks and 1 month postpartum.

Eligibility

Mothers who, at the time of the consultation, have a Certificate of Residence in Tokyo and are, in principle, within 2 months postpartum

Regarding the Issuance of the Maternal Health Checkup Consultation Ticket

Since April 1, 2026, the Maternal Health Checkup Consultation Ticket has been issued together with the Maternal and Child Health Handbook at the time of pregnancy notification. If you move outside Tokyo, please contact the local government of your new residence regarding the subsidy system.

For Those Visiting Medical Institutions Within Tokyo

Please submit the consultation ticket to the medical institution before your visit. A portion of the Medical Expenses will be deducted from the consultation fee at the medical institution.

For Those Visiting Medical Institutions Outside Tokyo

If you receive a 1-month-old infant Health Checkup at a medical institution outside Tokyo and wish to receive a subsidy, reimbursement (repayment) will be made if the following requirements are met.

1. Please submit the following request letter and the Application Form to the medical institution.
2. The medical institution will fill in the Health Checkup results on the Application Form.
3. Please prepare the Application Form with the Health Checkup results and the receipt, and apply to the city for the "Subsidy for Health Checkup for Pregnant Women Returning Home, etc., in Inagi City."
