Overview (Implementing Elementary Schools, Eligible Participants, Fees, etc.)

What is the After-School Children's Program

This program utilizes elementary school facilities to create a safe and secure place for children after school, and is implemented for all grades at all elementary schools in the city.

Implementing Elementary Schools

Inagi City Public Elementary Schools - 12 in total

Eligible Individuals

From 1st to 6th grade students attending the implementing elementary school.
However, it cannot be used in conjunction with the After-School Childcare Program.

Implementation Date and Time

  1. Weekdays (Days with School Lunch)
    End of school hours for each grade (after the end of the return meeting) until 6 PM (Reception: from after school until 4:30 PM)
  2. Weekdays (days without school lunch)
    From the end of school hours for each grade (after the end of the return meeting) until 6 PM (Reception: from after school until 2 PM; if you do not bring lunch, from 1 PM to 2 PM)
  3. Long-term holidays, substitute days for sports festivals, etc.
    • [Morning] From 8:30 AM to noon (Reception: From 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM)
    • [Afternoon] From 1 PM to 6 PM (Reception: From 1 PM to 2 PM)

If you bring your own lunch, you can continue to use the facilities from noon to 1 PM.

  • Note: In cases where there are events such as after-school guidance or pick-up training, there may be times when direct use is not possible from the end of the school day for each grade.

Contents

Students will engage in voluntary activities such as light sports, indoor games, and learning under the supervision of staff (safety managers) in special classrooms and gymnasiums within the elementary school they attend.

Cost

Free of charge. However, prior registration and enrollment in insurance (624 yen per year, including administrative handling fees) are required for use.

About Snacks

For those who wish, snacks will be provided upon prior application.
From April 2026, snacks will cost 99 yen per serving (including administrative handling fees).
The application period is from the 1st to the 20th of the previous month.

Items to Bring and Usage Precautions

  • If you have symptoms such as fever or cough, you cannot use it.
  • Please be sure to bring your attendance card (filled out with the necessary information and signed or stamped by a Parent or Guardian), indoor shoes, a handkerchief or towel for handwashing, a water bottle for hydration, and any books or tools you need for activities you want to do.
  • Items that are prohibited at school cannot be brought.

Differences Between After-School Children's Program, Children's Center, and After-School Childcare Program

We will explain the roles and contents of the "After-School Children's Program," "Children's Center," and "After-School Childcare Program."

What kind of place?

This program places staff in special classrooms, gymnasiums, and other facilities within elementary schools to provide children with a safe and secure place to stay.

The Children's Center is a castle for children. It promotes growth through sports, culture, and emotional activities. This is a place for after-school play and living for elementary school students whose parents or guardians are not at home during the day due to work or other reasons.

What are the available hours?

 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Note: If you bring your own lunch, you can continue to use the facility from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Note: Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and during the year-end/New Year holidays.

 Usage Requirements: Yes

 Capacity: Available for each facility

Is prior registration required? Pre-registration is required. Submission of the registration form is required upon your first visit. Pre-registration is required.
Does it cost money?

Insurance fee: 624 yen per year (including administrative service fee)

Note: Additional costs are required for those who want snacks.

There is no fee for use (or visiting).

Note: Actual expenses may be incurred depending on the activities.

Development fee: 5,200 yen (monthly)

Note: There are additional costs such as snack fees and membership fees.

What do you do for lunch on days when there is no school? You can bring your bento (Lunch Box) and eat it. You can also use the facility after having lunch at home. You can bring your bento (Lunch Box) and eat it. For more details, please contact each facility. Everyone will eat bento(Lunch Box).
Can you use the facility directly from school? You can use it directly. You can also use it after returning home once. Please make sure to return home once before coming to the facility. Please be sure to visit the office in person.
What is the big difference? It is a place where children spend time independently. It is not a service for taking care of your child. The Children's Center is open for free visits. After-school child support staff provide guidance according to instructional plans and also manage the attendance of the children.
