About the "Roofed Wooden Bench" Near Bus Stop ③ at the South Exit Plaza of Inagi Station

What is the purpose of the roofed wooden bench space near bus stop (No. 3) at the south exit plaza of Inagi Station?　
The issues I feel are,
　・There is a step of about 10 cm to climb onto the base of this bench space.
　・It is dangerous even for Older Adults to use.
　・Wheelchair users cannot enter inside.
　・When there is a queue for the bus, it obstructs pedestrian flow and becomes an extremely dangerous obstacle (blocking the sidewalk) for pedestrians.

We request removal, but first we would like you to answer the following:
(1) What was the purpose of installing the "wooden bench with a roof"?
(2) Are you aware of the above-mentioned situation?
(3) The concept behind the pedestrian flow design, including the bus waiting lines.

The city’s website states that the aim was to "increase the boarding and waiting areas for buses and taxis, while improving the safety and convenience for station users and citizens," but we believe that the above-mentioned "wooden bench space" has the exact opposite effect (without any roof extension at the bus stop).

Response

Currently, improvement work is being carried out at the south exit plaza of Inagi Station with the aim of enhancing the safety and convenience of station users. This construction includes rebuilding the existing canopy and installing new canopies at the bus stops and drop-off areas you inquired about.
Currently, we are proceeding with the building confirmation application for the installation of these canopies, and plan to resume construction as soon as the procedures are completed. However, due to requests from bus users for measures against rain and sun until the new canopies are installed, we have currently set up temporary wooden benches with roofs.
Regarding the step difference between the sidewalk and the wooden bench with a roof, we will consider installing temporary step plates and other measures with consideration for users such as Older Adults.
Additionally, concerning the sidewalk, we will proceed with improvements to create a barrier-free environment and to ensure a balance between pedestrian flow and the bus waiting function as part of the ongoing improvement works.
In the meantime, the temporary waiting area will be available for use, and we will consider measures such as guiding passengers with signage to ensure that the queue for boarding buses does not obstruct pedestrian flow.
