Regarding the Fuchu Racecourse Fireworks Festival

The area around Koremachi Bridge becomes extremely crowded during the Fuchu Racecourse Fireworks Festival. Since there is no traffic control or personnel guidance, it turns into a lawless zone. Around Koremasa Bridge, people reserve spots using leisure sheets and tripods, which are reinforced with duct tape and the like. Additionally, on the day of the fireworks festival, bicycles are parked on the street blocking the road, and many people end up stranded. The next day, the Tama River near Koremasa Bridge is littered with trash. Since trash bins are not provided, the area becomes quite unsanitary. We would like measures to be taken, such as charging a fee. At the very least, we ask for personnel guidance, warnings regarding trash, and a ban on reserving spots on the roadside or parking bicycles on the street.

Response

Regarding the illegal parking near Koremasa Bridge and placing objects on the road that obstruct traffic during the Tokyo Racecourse fireworks event, we will coordinate with the Tama Central Police Station to implement countermeasures.
Next, regarding the use of municipal parks, to maintain cleanliness within the parks, we always encourage visitors to take their trash home with them through announcements and awareness campaigns on the city website. Going forward, for Inagi Kita Ryokuchi Park, which tends to see increased usage during the fireworks festival, we will strive to further raise awareness through cautionary signage.
Finally, we have submitted the opinions received this time to the Tokyo Racecourse Fireworks Executive Committee and shared the information with the Keihin River Office of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, which is the river administrator.
