About Crime Prevention Measures
There has been a malicious harassment act where pet food was buried on my residential property, causing me great anxiety. I deeply appreciate the regular patrols and monitoring activities, but I would like to request an increase in the number of security cameras so that such incidents can be addressed even during less visible times (especially at night).
Additionally, to prevent similar damages in advance, we believe that informing citizens about such incidents actually occurring will lead to increased crime prevention awareness and crime deterrence.
Response
First, regarding the installation of city security cameras, in addition to places with heavy traffic of unspecified people, the installation locations are determined after consulting with the Board of Education, Tama Central Police Station, and considering opinions from PTA and others, especially from the perspective of ensuring children's safety.
Furthermore, if the Neighborhood Association, which is most familiar with the local security situation, wishes to install security cameras, the city provides partial subsidies for the installation costs. We encourage you to consult with your Neighborhood Association.
In addition, to ensure the safety of the community, we believe that prompt information sharing is essential. When a suspicious incident occurs, by reporting it to the Tama Central Police Station, the city receives alert emails regarding suspicious individuals and notifies citizens in real time through the city's email distribution service. Therefore, to provide effective alerts immediately after an incident occurs, please do not hesitate to call 110 right away.
Additionally, in the event of incidents, the city requests the Tama Central Police Station to strengthen patrols, and they cooperate to focus patrols on areas where crimes have occurred.
We will continue to cooperate with the Tama Central Police Station to ensure the safety of all citizens.
