Regarding Online Pregnant Women Consultations
I would like to request the implementation of online pregnant women consultations.
According to the "Inagi Parenting Information Site," this service is being provided, and the application procedure is even listed; however, when I called the Parent and Child Comprehensive Support Center, I was told that although it is announced on the website, it is not actually being conducted, and online consultations are not accepted.
I have two proposals.
1. Implementation and acceptance of online pregnant women consultations
The reason given when I inquired by phone for not accepting was that they need to see the face in person.
They also said that since it is not urgent, they would like the person to come after their health has recovered.
However, by using a standard web conferencing system and turning on the camera, it is possible to confirm the face, and precisely because one is feeling unwell, I believe there are matters they want to consult about at that time.
Also, I must say that access from the Hirao area to the Parent and Child Comprehensive Support Center using public transportation is very poor, and if it is difficult to conduct the service at the Hirao Branch Office, I would like you to establish a system that more readily accepts online consultations.
2. Review and Revision of Website Content
If it is difficult to accept the proposal in 1., please promptly review and revise the content posted on the website.
While feeling unwell, I researched the necessary information, completed the application, and consulted about the online interview following the procedure, so I was very disappointed to receive such a response.
We kindly ask for your positive consideration.
Response
The city, in interviews with pregnant women conducted by Public Health Nurses, provides necessary materials on the spot as information for childbirth, and also supports even minor concerns during pregnancy, aiming to ensure that pregnant women can approach childbirth with peace of mind. While face-to-face interviews are the standard, online interviews are also available when face-to-face meetings are difficult due to hospitalization or other reasons.
We sincerely apologize for causing you inconvenience as the city was unable to confirm the proposer’s situation this time. We recognize that an online interview would have been the preferable option under the circumstances.
To prevent such occurrences in the future, we will share information among staff and strive to reduce the burden on pregnant women. Regarding pregnancy interviews at the Hirao Branch Office, the current system makes it difficult to accommodate them, so we will organize the requirements for accepting online interviews and improve the guidance on the website.
