About Junior High School Students' Childcare Experience
Unfortunately, about half of Generation Z answered that they do not want to have children in the future.
What I want Inagi City to consider is making childcare experience mandatory, separate from the workplace experience for junior high school students. It seems that most people who say they do not want children have never even interacted with children younger than themselves.
That is precisely why it is essential to make childcare experience mandatory while still a student, so they can genuinely feel that children are adorable; such experiences will likely become a trigger for increasing the number of children.
Response
According to confirmation with the Board of Education, regarding nursery experience for junior high school students, in the 2025 fiscal year, all municipal junior high schools plan to conduct workplace experiences including nursery schools within the city.
Also, regarding all students participating in childcare experience, upon confirming with the Board of Education, it is difficult to create time for childcare experience separately from workplace experience within each junior high school's educational plan. However, each school is engaging in learning based on the curriculum guidelines in subjects such as Technology and Home Economics (home field) and Special Subjects like Moral Education, covering topics like "Life of Young Children and Family," "Compassion," "Family Love," and "Preciousness of Life." Moving forward, they will use the feedback received to further enhance these learning activities.
