About Broadcasting and Chime Sounds
Currently raising an infant, and during nap times, the chime sounds and announcements from City Hall are loud, often startling the baby awake with crying. For the evening chime, we take measures such as closing the windows in advance, but sometimes we forget due to our own oversight, and we cannot take any measures against the announcements, which causes stress.
We fully understand the importance of overall community safety and information dissemination, but if it is possible to adjust the volume or inform us of the broadcast schedule, we would greatly appreciate your consideration.
Response
The children's watch broadcast is an initiative asking local residents to cooperate in watching over children within a reasonable scope by aligning their walks and shopping with the broadcast times, amid the ongoing nationwide crimes targeting children.
Broadcasts are made every Monday at 2 PM (excluding holidays and school vacation periods such as summer break), timed roughly to coincide with the dismissal time of elementary school students (especially lower grades).
Regarding the background of implementing the monitoring broadcasts, we received opinions from the Tama Central Police Station stating that it has a certain effect in crime prevention, as well as requests from general citizens asking for its implementation. With the hope that children will not become involved in incidents or accidents, we carry out these broadcasts.
Please note that the volume of the broadcasting equipment for this broadcast is set to small, medium, and large, with the current setting on small.
