Please establish Sakahama Station between Inagi Station and Wakabadai Station.
Response
Regarding the express train stops at Inagi Station, we have been continuously requesting Keio Corporation for many years to further improve convenience in line with the increase in railway users.
However, Keio Corporation has informed us that the stations where limited express and express trains stop are selected based on factors such as the number of boarding and alighting passengers and connections with other lines. Currently, there are no plans for these trains to stop at Inagi Station. They have responded that they will consider this in the future depending on changes in passenger numbers due to large-scale developments in the surrounding area.
Although the number of passengers boarding and alighting at Inagi Station decreased during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been steadily recovering. Additionally, community development through the Minamiyama East Land Readjustment Project is progressing. Therefore, we intend to continue requesting Keio Corporation to enhance transportation capacity, such as by having express trains stop at Inagi Station, and to work towards improving railway transportation.
Regarding the request for the establishment of a new station between Inagi Station and Wakabadai Station, it was originally planned as part of the Sakahama-Hirao Land Readjustment Project implemented by Tokyo Metropolitan Government, which was decided in the urban planning in 1997. However, due to Tokyo Metropolitan Government's financial reconstruction promotion plan and changes in housing policies, the Land Readjustment Project was canceled, making the establishment of the new station difficult.
