Handling of My Number Card at the Health Checkup Center

I underwent a Late-Stage Elderly Medical Care checkup at the health examination center. I presented my Health Insurance Card information using my My Number Card. At that time, identity verification (facial recognition or PIN) was done without going through the procedure for approval to use past information, and it seems that information was extracted from the card somewhere in the back office. Isn't this procedure illegal? This makes me suspect that information other than that related to the Health Insurance Card might also have been extracted.

Response

At the Inagi City Hospital Health Checkup Center, qualification verification using the My Number Card is conducted through an online qualification verification system limited to confirming insurance eligibility only, not the "existing type" used by insured medical institutions and insured pharmacies. This system does not allow confirmation of past medical or medication information.
Identity verification is conducted in accordance with the lawful rules established by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, through visual confirmation (checking the face photo on the My Number Card against the individual), and there is no fact of extracting information from the card.
