About Wheelchair Rentals

Wheelchair rentals are currently available at City Hall and the Welfare Center in Inagi City, but we would like them to be available in the Hirao area as well.

I am currently caring for my parent and would like to occasionally borrow it to take my parent to nearby hospitals or shopping.
It would be nice if lending services were available even for day trips at places like the Third Cultural Center or Friend Hirao. I would like to use them even if there is a fee (around 500 yen).

Regarding the wheelchair lending handled at the City Hall main office, the wheelchairs donated by companies within the city are managed by the responsible department using a lending ledger. They are cleaned and maintained for safety after lending, and are temporarily lent free of charge to those who need a wheelchair temporarily (such as individuals with physical disabilities, Older Adults, or those injured or ill) who are not covered by Long-Term Care Insurance, as well as to disability organizations (excluding commercial activities).
Therefore, regarding lending at the Third Cultural Center and Friend Hirao, it is currently considered difficult to accommodate due to the inability to manage them through the above-mentioned responsible departments, limitations on the number of units, and the general spread of wheelchair lending by welfare equipment business operators.
Since your parent has a long-term care certification, you can use welfare equipment (wheelchairs, special beds, etc.) for care services under the Long-Term Care Insurance system with a partial charge.
Fees vary depending on the type and frequency of wheelchair use and the business operators, but the user's burden is set by the system to be between 10% and 30%, based on the individual's previous year's income and household composition. The individual's burden ratio is indicated on the Long-Term Care Insurance burden ratio certificate, so please check it.
