Heatstroke Prevention Measures During Junior High School Physical Education (Introduction of Mesh Caps)
I would like students to be allowed to wear mesh hats during outdoor physical education at junior high schools to prevent heatstroke.
At the sports festival, only a few people wore it even with permission, which is thought to be due to the fact that it is not a regular habit and there is no preparation.
If the school-recommended gym uniforms are sold by authorized vendors, it will be easier to purchase and easier to provide guidance. It would be helpful if wearing them during summer commutes to and from school is also permitted when introduced.
Response
According to confirmation with the Board of Education, each school does not prohibit wearing hats or similar during physical education classes. The Board of Education also instructs schools to guide students to manage their own health, including shielding themselves from the sun with hats on hot days.
Regarding the proposed "sale of school-recommended products," it has been decided that no new uniform measures will be implemented at schools, so that students can effectively utilize their own items and make choices suited to their physical condition. However, the Board of Education will continue to provide guidance to schools to ensure that students can appropriately prevent heatstroke.
