About Inagi Newsletter

After reading the August 15 issue of the Inagi Newsletter,
August is the month when the war ended and the atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Other municipalities' newsletters feature articles about peace exhibitions and lectures related to the atomic bomb, but the Inagi Newsletter does not mention these at all. Even in the mayor's column, there is only talk about ALTs and no mention of the atomic bomb or the end of the war. Is there some kind of rule that prevents such articles from being published?
It may also be related to the above, but in the article recruiting for the autumn walk at the Tama Service Auxiliary Facility, it only describes it as a "U.S. military recreation facility with historic buildings and rich nature," and there is no mention of the words "Tama Ammunition Depot" at all. Please also explain the reason for this.

Response

Regarding the publication in the Inagi Newsletter of projects related to the Declaration of a Peace City, we usually hold events such as the Inagi Peace Concert, the Inagi City Peace Senryu Contest, and the Peace Panel Exhibition.
Every year, in conjunction with the atomic bomb damage in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the day of the end of the war, a Peace Panel Exhibition displaying photo panels of the atomic bomb damage in Hiroshima and Nagasaki is held at City Hall. However, this year, since the period for borrowing photo panels from the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum was designated in July, the Peace Panel Exhibition was held from July 14. Therefore, the announcement article in the Inagi Newsletter was published in the July 1 issue to coincide with the start date of the Peace Panel Exhibition.
Regarding the article "Tama Service Support Facilities Autumn Walk" published in the Inagi Newsletter (August 15 issue), due to space limitations in the print edition, the "Tama Ammunition Depot" was not mentioned; however, on the city website, it is described as the "Former Imperial Japanese Army Ordnance Factory (remains of the Tama Gunpowder Manufacturing Plant)."
We will continue to make efforts to convey information more clearly and accurately to citizens in the articles published in the Inagi Newsletter.
