Regarding the Air Conditioner Malfunction at Inagi Dai 5 Junior High School

Inagi Dai 5 Junior High School, Class 3D and others, have poor air conditioning performance starting from the first term of 2025.
Summer vacation has ended, and classes have started amid the intense heat, but the poor air conditioning has not improved and is still ongoing. Additionally, on the first day of school, several students in Class 3D experienced health issues. In two weeks, a major regular test that significantly impacts career paths is scheduled. Furthermore, the air conditioner in the music room broke down, so music classes were held in the multipurpose room, but the air conditioner in this multipurpose room also broke down. The teachers are doing their best to manage with whatever measures they can, but it seems to be reaching its limit.
It is assumed that you are consulting the department in charge of Inagi City Public Schools at Inagi City Hall, but although the budget for Inagi City's public schools has been decided, is there no emergency budget allocation to respond to such a life-threatening emergency? We sincerely ask you to consider measures for improvement.

Response

We apologize for the inconvenience caused due to the air conditioning equipment malfunction in the music room of Inagi Dai 5 Junior High School.
After confirming with the Board of Education, as you pointed out, due to a temporary malfunction of the air conditioning in the music room on September 1st, classes were held in the multipurpose room, but the air conditioning equipment in the multipurpose room was operating normally.
Also, the air conditioning equipment installed in classrooms 3-D and 3-C has been operating normally for some time. However, since the room temperature was harder to lower compared to other classrooms, the school took measures to improve air conditioning efficiency by applying insulating sheets to the classroom windows to mitigate temperature increases caused by sunlight. This action was reported to have been carried out early in the morning on September 3rd. Furthermore, when the responsible department inspected the site, the temperature at the air conditioning outlets in classroom 3-D and the adjacent third-year classrooms was confirmed to be the normal value of 16.2°C.
When malfunctions occur in school facilities, priority is given to addressing issues related to the safety of students' lives and bodies. In particular, malfunctions in air conditioning equipment during extreme heat are addressed promptly as a heatstroke prevention measure, with budget secured and scheduling with repair contractors prioritized.
