Request for Enhancement of Commercial Facilities in the Inagi Naganuma Area
I moved to Inagi Naganuma this year, but I am troubled by the lack of everyday shopping options.
Even when I want to purchase school supplies all at once, there are no comprehensive family-oriented stores within Inagi City, so I have no choice but to go outside the city. Shopping is only possible outside the city or through online shopping, and consumption continues to flow out of Inagi City despite living here.
It is regrettable that despite repeated similar voices from citizens, the response has been postponed as a "management decision of private companies." The current commercial area is limited to a small area around the station, and its size is far from being able to consider the location of large commercial facilities, so companies may not even be able to consider the possibility of opening stores.
Is it acceptable for consumer spending to continue flowing out to other cities? We would appreciate hearing your thoughts on how the city perceives this current situation.
We request a proactive review of urban planning aimed at attracting commercial facilities and the development of an environment where citizens can shop with peace of mind within the city.
Response
The city is advancing urban planning and urban infrastructure development so that all citizens can feel comfortable living here, and is working on Community Development that revitalizes the regional economy and creates a lively town.
Regarding the enhancement of commercial facilities as per the opinions received, the city aims to revitalize the regional economy and create a lively town while continuing support for small and medium-sized enterprises, including existing commercial stores, which is also a role of the city. Additionally, with the intention of improving convenience for citizens' daily lives, the city is currently studying the attraction of new commercial facilities.
Regarding the area around Inagi-Naganuma Station, it is designated as the city's central district in the Urban Planning Master Plan. The city aims to establish restaurants and commercial facilities there to create a lively and vibrant town. To this end, the city is promoting area-wide development through the JR Nambu Line Continuous Grade Separation Project and the Land Readjustment Project around Inagi-Naganuma Station. Additionally, the city has designated approximately 7.2 hectares as a neighborhood commercial zone and established zoning regulations that allow building heights of up to 36 meters to attract commercial facilities. However, landowners have not yet utilized their land for commercial facilities or similar purposes.
