Request and questions regarding the Minamiyama Land Readjustment Project.

[Request 1] The earthwork on the east side of Block 30 (in the direction that will connect to the future Rehabilitation Center road) is currently underway, and a large mound of excavated soil has been temporarily piled up. The dust coming from there is severe, to the extent that cars turn brown in a single day. We fully understand that this is a difficult issue, but we would appreciate your consideration in taking measures against the dust.

[Question 1] Is there a plan to plant trees in the green space being developed, including the green area on the south side of Block 30 (behind Hair Make Full House Minamiyama)? Currently, weeds grow and are repeatedly mowed, making the area bleak, so I believe planting trees would improve the scenery.

[Question 2] Is it correct to understand that the completion of the Minamiyama Land Readjustment Project remains scheduled for the first half of 2026?

Response

The Minamiyama Eastern Land Readjustment Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Association") is currently mainly advancing the development of the green space on the south side of Block 30 and the construction of Route 7-4-5, scheduled to open by the end of this fiscal year (the road in front of the Rehabilitation Hospital). As you pointed out, since soil has been temporarily placed, we sincerely apologize for the great inconvenience caused to the surrounding residents. The city will instruct the Association to promptly implement measures against the dust.
Regarding Question 1, the parks and green spaces within the eastern Minamiyama area are scheduled to have their maintenance and management transferred from the association to the city in fiscal 2026. Therefore, the city will consider planting greenery within the area, including the green space on the south side of Block 30, going forward.
Regarding Question 2, we have heard from the association that they aim to complete the construction within the district by the end of FY2026 and to complete the project (dissolution of the association) by the end of FY2028.
