About Tobacco Smoke

There is a cigarette butt receptacle placed in front of 'Zaruya' shop, so the smoke from people smoking cigarettes smells bad.
It is unthinkable to have a smoking area on a road near the station where many people pass by.
I hold my breath every time I pass by, but when it is windy, the smell spreads everywhere.
The idea that it's unavoidable because it's a store that sells tobacco is outdated, isn't it?
I would like them not to place the cigarette butt receptacle.

Response

In Inagi City, to regulate smoking on streets and other public areas that may cause "passive smoking," "danger and nuisance to surrounding people," and "littering of cigarette butts," the "Ordinance on the Restriction of Smoking on Streets and Other Public Areas in Inagi City" was established. Since FY2018, six areas around stations within the city have been designated as no-smoking zones on streets and other public areas. Various awareness activities have been conducted, including guidance by street smoking prevention instructors, station-front campaigns, and utilizing the city website and public relations papers.
In addition, regarding the installation of smoking areas on private property within the no-smoking zones on streets and similar areas, consideration is given to ensure that people on the streets and similar places are not exposed to secondhand smoke. Concerning the ashtray on the premises you pointed out, we have inspected the site and instructed the installer to take measures so that smoke does not flow out onto the street.
