About Electric Vehicle Chargers

Although rapid chargers for electric vehicles have been installed, please tell us about their usage status (operating rate). The charging fee for the 150 kW rapid chargers is high, and not all vehicle models support 150 kW, so there are no opportunities to use them. While I think they are good as equipment for disasters, I hope that regular chargers supporting 3 kW/6 kW will be installed alongside so they can be used at all times.

Response

Regarding electric vehicle chargers, based on the "Collaboration Agreement on Promoting the Development of Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities" concluded with Terra Charge Co., Ltd. on May 13, 2024, the city provides installation locations at eight Public Facilities within the city, including City Hall and parks, and Terra Charge Co., Ltd. installs and operates the rapid charging equipment for electric vehicles.
Regarding the usage status (operating rate) of the electric vehicle rapid chargers, we confirmed with Terra Charge Inc., which operates them, and they stated that this information is not publicly disclosed.
Regarding the installation of regular chargers compatible with 3kW/6kW, the chargers installed under the above agreement are defined as 150kW rapid chargers that enable short charging times so as not to significantly interfere with the use of parking lots at Public Facilities. Currently, many vehicle models support rapid charging, and it is expected that models compatible with 150kW will become more widespread in the future. Therefore, there are no plans to install regular chargers compatible with 3kW/6kW.
