Regarding Elementary School Students Taking iPads Home

The iPads that children take home every day, along with their school bags and textbooks, become quite heavy, making their commute to and from school difficult.
It seems that in the neighboring city of Kawasaki, iPads are kept at school.
Could Inagi City also consider allowing iPads to be stored at school?

Response

In our city, each student is provided with a tablet device, and by utilizing LTE connections, we have established an environment where learning activities can be conducted not only within the school but also at home and elsewhere. Additionally, during class closures or temporary school shutdowns due to infectious diseases, we use these devices to ensure learning opportunities by conducting online classes and homerooms.
For these reasons, the tablets are not kept at school at all times, but are taken home and used for learning.
Upon confirming with the Board of Education, regarding the contents of the belongings when going to and from school, tablets are basically taken home. Considering factors such as the children's developmental stages, the necessity for learning including home study, and the importance of self-managing a certain amount of belongings for social independence, schools are instructed to provide appropriate accommodations as needed.
Additionally, the school will work in cooperation with families to address any concerns, so if your worries persist, please feel free to consult directly with the school.
