About Smoking on the Street

I often see people smoking on the street near my home.
Please implement concrete measures to eliminate smoking on the street.

Response

The city established the "Ordinance on the Restriction of Smoking on Streets and Other Public Places in Inagi City" in 2018 to regulate smoking on streets and other areas that may cause "passive smoking," "danger and nuisance to surrounding people," and "littering of cigarette butts." We have been conducting awareness activities about the ordinance through various opportunities, including the use of educational materials. Additionally, we provide guidance through street smoking prevention instructors, and as a result, the number of guidance cases within the designated no-smoking areas on streets has been decreasing year by year, achieving certain outcomes. However, since smoking on streets and other areas has not been completely eliminated, including the locations you pointed out this time, we will continue patrols by street smoking prevention instructors and awareness and educational activities using materials to ensure the effectiveness of the ordinance.
