Regarding Library Requests

I believe that currently, requests at the Central Library are limited to books. I would definitely like CD and DVD to be added as requestable items. Nowadays, subscriptions via the internet and other means have become more common. Rental stores, which used to be numerous, are gradually disappearing.
There are actually many works that can only be viewed on media such as DVDs and CDs. While I understand there are copyright and other rights-related issues, I would like you to consider this.

When we confirmed with the Board of Education, they stated that when they receive a request for a book that is not in their collection, they proceed with interlibrary loan procedures with libraries in other cities. If the book is not held by other city libraries or if it takes a considerable amount of time to lend, they purchase the book based on the selection criteria and lend it to the user.
We strive to respond to user requests as much as possible; however, audiovisual materials such as CDs and DVDs cannot be borrowed from other cities, and due to their higher cost compared to books, they are not included in the request service.
