Regarding the Start of School Lunch for New First Graders

April 8 (Tue) Entrance Ceremony
April 11 (Fri) Start of school lunch for 2nd to 6th graders
April 21 (Mon) Start of school lunch for new first graders.

Both parents work, so we prepare bento(Lunch Box) until school lunch begins. Due to the privatization of after-school care, it has become possible to order bentos, but the burden during the period without school lunch is still heavy.
We understand that starting school lunches early places a high burden on children and teachers, but even a simple lunch such as bread and milk would be acceptable, so we hope the start of school lunches can be brought forward even a little.
In the ward area (Edogawa Ward), some schools have already started from April 9. We apologize for the late request, but we would be grateful if you could consider this from FY2026.

The School Lunch in this city is implemented by delivering meals prepared at a central kitchen to each school, and for the fiscal year 2026, the kitchen operations will begin on April 10.　
Upon confirmation with the Board of Education, regarding the number of times school lunch is provided, the schedule is determined based on the principle of securing as many sessions as possible at each school within the annual maximum number of sessions allowed by the Board of Education.
Also, regarding new first graders, there are some schools where the end of the school day is earlier for a while after enrollment to allow time to get used to school life, resulting in a later start of School Lunch compared to other grades. However, for the 2024 school year, instructions have been given to start earlier than in 2023, and School Lunch will begin for all grades by April 15 in all elementary schools.
We will share the opinions we have received this time with the Board of Education and use them as a reference for future school management.
