About "Environment Day" and "Environment Month"

June 5th is Environment Day.
This was established to commemorate the "United Nations Conference on the Human Environment" held in Stockholm from June 5, 1972.
At the United Nations, June 5th has been designated as "World Environment Day" following Japan's proposal, and in Japan, "Environment Day" is established under the Basic Environment Law.
Since fiscal year 1991, the Ministry of the Environment has proposed designating the month of June as Environment Month.
Let's take this opportunity to think about the environment.

Implementation of Environmental Panel Exhibition

As part of the Greenery Tokyo and Global Warming Prevention Project, an environmental panel exhibition will be held in the City Hall first floor lobby during Environment Month (the entire month of June), promoted by the Ministry of the Environment, to provide citizens with an opportunity to think about environmental issues.

We promote "green curtains" made by growing plants such as bitter melon and morning glory as measures to reduce CO2 and save electricity in summer.
Seeds such as bitter melon and morning glory will be distributed at the panel exhibition venue.
Note: Quantities are limited, and distribution will end once supplies run out.
