Let's draw during summer vacation! We are accepting entries for the FY2025 Environmental Poster Contest
Inagi City promotes sustainable Community Development and aims to achieve the SDGs through its realization.
To pass on Inagi, an environmentally rich city where nature and people coexist, to future generations and to protect its abundant natural and living environments, we are seeking works that share and raise awareness among citizens about issues such as "food loss countermeasures," "waste reduction and recycling of resource waste," and "littering of garbage and cigarette butts."
FY2024 Grand Prize Winning Work
Theme
- Waste Reduction and Recycling Division "Matters related to waste reduction, sorting, and recycling, such as reducing food loss (leftover food and waste), reducing plastic waste, and promoting the 5Rs of waste (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Respect)"
- No Littering Department "Prohibition of littering, taking pet waste home, and other matters related to beautifying the town's environment"
- Prohibition of Smoking in Public Areas "Prohibition of smoking on the streets, refraining from smoking while walking, prohibition of discarding cigarette butts, and other related matters"
About Award-Winning Works
- Award-winning works will be exhibited at the "Environmental Poster Exhibition" held at the Central Cultural Center and SHIROYAMA EXPERIENCE STUDY INSTITUTE.
- When exhibiting or publishing, the names, school names, and grades of the award winners will be disclosed. Please understand this in advance.
- Award winners will receive a certificate and a supplementary prize.
Utilization of Award-Winning Works
The works will be digitized and utilized for the following purposes.
- Three of the top prize-winning works will be used on the cover of the "Waste and Recycling Calendar" distributed by the city.
- The top prize-winning work for Theme 1 will be affixed to garbage collection trucks running within the city, and excellent works will be displayed in the Tama River Sanitation Union's visitor passage.
- The top prize and excellence award-winning works for Themes 2 and 3 will be distributed as educational materials to citizens troubled by dog feces and littering.

Application Guidelines
- Size: Quarter-cut drawing paper
- Color: Free (however, paper cutting and collage are not allowed)
Application Method
- Applications from public Elementary and Junior High Schools and groups should be submitted collectively.
- Those other than the above should mail or submit directly to the Living Environment Division.
- Please fill in the required information on the FY2025 Environment Poster Application Form and submit it together with your work.
- Please write the required information on the back of the work (selected theme number, address, name (with furigana), age, phone number, and for Elementary and Junior High School students, school name and grade) when applying.

Judging Method and Announcement of Results
- Divided into three themes, Elementary and Junior High School students will be judged by generation, while those in high school and above will be judged in the general category.
- Theme 1 will be reviewed by the Mayor of Inagi City Waste Reduction Promotion Council. Themes 2 and 3 will be reviewed by the Inagi City Citizens' Council for Keeping the Town Clean.
- Thirty outstanding works will be selected from each generation, and from these, one top work will be chosen for each theme.
- The judging results will be notified through the schools or organizations to which the entries were submitted. If you applied individually, you will be contacted to confirm the notification.
- All applicants will receive a participation prize. Outstanding works for each theme will be awarded a certificate and a supplementary prize.
Other Topics
- Submitted works must be created by the applicant and must be unpublished.
- The copyright of the submitted works shall belong to the organizer (Inagi City).
- Works that have been digitized may be exhibited at events held by the city.
- Works created by multiple people as a single entry are not allowed.
- Submitted works will be returned through the school or organization. However, please note that the timing of the return may vary depending on whether the work wins a prize. For those who apply individually, the works will be returned directly.
- When organizing at each school or organization, please create a list of applicants using the "FY 2025 Environmental Poster Application Form" and submit it together with the posters.
- Works that do not meet the conditions of "Theme," "Eligibility," "Application Rules," "Application Method," and "Application Period" will be excluded from the screening.
