Inagi City Urban Planning Council
The Inagi City Urban Planning Council is an organization that investigates, deliberates, or makes recommendations on urban planning matters based on the Urban Planning Act when the city or Tokyo Metropolitan Government establishes urban planning (plans related to land use, development of urban facilities, and urban development projects for the sound development and orderly maintenance of the city).
Urban planning is generally defined as a comprehensive plan aimed at providing unity to the structure of the city so that the diverse urban activities can function adequately as a whole, while also developing streets and other Public Facilities, and rationalizing land use. It significantly impacts the lives of citizens as it determines the future shape of the city.
Therefore, when establishing urban planning, decisions are made not only by administrative agencies but also through investigations and discussions in a deliberative council composed of experts, members of the council, relevant administrative agencies, Tokyo Metropolitan Government staff, and city residents.
The members of the Inagi City City Planning Council are composed of up to 12 members based on the "Inagi City City Planning Council Ordinance."
In addition, the Inagi City City Planning Council can investigate and deliberate on urban planning proposals that the city intends to establish, respond to inquiries from the Mayor of Inagi City regarding urban planning matters, and make recommendations on urban planning items to relevant administrative agencies.
