Citizen Health Education Lecture: "About Numbness and Pain in the Hands and Feet"
Event Category: Courses and Classes (Learn and Listen)
Lecture Content
The nerves of the hands and feet extend from the brain through the neck, branching via a thick nerve called the spinal cord, and become thin nerves called peripheral nerves that reach the fingertips and toes. If any part of this pathway is impaired and the sensory nerves are affected, numbness or pain may be perceived. The severity of symptoms varies depending on the location and extent of the impairment, but understanding signs that should not be overlooked in advance can help determine whether it is necessary to urgently visit a hospital. This time, we will explain mainly what kinds of diseases cause numbness and pain in the hands and feet, and in which cases it is advisable to see a doctor immediately.
