QuestionThis year, I received a notification for the Municipal Resident Tax and Tokyo Metropolitan Resident Tax even though I am not working. Do I need to pay it?

Municipal Resident Tax and Tokyo Metropolitan Resident Tax are determined based on the income from the previous year (from January to December). Even if you are currently not working, you will still be required to pay.
