Subsidy for Fuel Costs (Gasoline, etc.) and Taxi Fares for Persons with Physical and Mental Disabilities
The city has a system in place to provide fuel costs for automobiles or taxi fares to individuals with disabilities who find it difficult to use public transportation such as trains and buses, for the convenience of their daily lives.
The eligible individuals for this system are as follows.
Eligible Individuals
Those with a notebook grade of one of the following
- Visual Impairment Level 1 and 2
- Upper limb, lower limb, or trunk functional disabilities level 1 to 3
- Internal disabilities (heart, kidneys, respiratory system, bladder, rectum, small intestine) Grade 1 and 3
- Internal disabilities (immune system, liver) Grade 1 to 3
- Hearing Impairment Level 2
- Love Handbook 1 & 2
- Cerebral Palsy or Progressive Muscular Atrophy
Subsidy Details
You can choose either taxi, gasoline, or light oil subsidy on a monthly basis.
Up to 10,000 yen (200 liters if using gasoline) will be provided for each period.
Note: Period 1 (April to July), Period 2 (August to November), Period 3 (December to March)
- Taxi fare is based on the fare used (only the fare is subsidized)
The fare discount system using a disability certificate (showing the certificate at the time of boarding results in a 10% discount) applies to receipts for fares (those with a date recorded). Receipts that do not utilize the fare discount system are not eligible for assistance. - The gasoline price is 50 yen per liter
- The diesel fuel price is 30 yen per liter
Note: If you apply during the period or lose eligibility, the maximum payment amount will be the number of eligible months within the period multiplied by 2,500 yen.
Grant Restrictions
The following cases are not eligible.
- In case of admission to the facility
- For use in commuting, attending school, or business
Usage Report and Invoice
Benefits will be provided based on reports submitted three times a year (August, December, and April).
Please submit the situation report with receipts for fuel costs and taxi fares to the Disability Welfare Division by the submission deadline for each period below.
- Phase 1: The period from April to July must arrive by August 10
- Phase 2: The period from August to November must arrive by December 10th
- Phase 3: The period from December to March must arrive by April 10
Note: The reporting deadlines for each period must be strictly adhered to.
Procedure
Please prepare the following and apply to the Disability Welfare Division.
- Physical Disability Certificate or Love Certificate
- Transfer destination in the name of the person
About Situation Reports
Starting from the fiscal year 2016, instead of mailing the annual status report from City Hall, please download the forms for the "Status Report" and "Receipt Attachment Form" below and submit your application.
We are also distributing situation reports and other documents at the Disability Welfare Division counter and the Hirao and Wakabadai Branch Offices. Please feel free to use these as well. Additionally, you can use copies of the forms you have.
Note: The Hirao and Wakabadai Branch Offices will distribute and receive situation reports, but for inquiries regarding the method of filling out, please contact the Disability Welfare Division directly.
