Subsidy for Fuel Costs (Gasoline, etc.) and Taxi Fares for Persons with Physical and Mental Disabilities

The city has a system in place to provide fuel costs for automobiles or taxi fares to individuals with disabilities who find it difficult to use public transportation such as trains and buses, for the convenience of their daily lives.

The eligible individuals for this system are as follows.

Eligible Individuals

Those with a notebook grade of one of the following

  1. Visual Impairment Level 1 and 2
  2. Upper limb, lower limb, or trunk functional disabilities level 1 to 3
  3. Internal disabilities (heart, kidneys, respiratory system, bladder, rectum, small intestine) Grade 1 and 3
  4. Internal disabilities (immune system, liver) Grade 1 to 3
  5. Hearing Impairment Level 2
  6. Love Handbook 1 & 2
  7. Cerebral Palsy or Progressive Muscular Atrophy

Subsidy Details

You can choose either taxi, gasoline, or light oil subsidy on a monthly basis.
Up to 10,000 yen (200 liters if using gasoline) will be provided for each period.
Note: Period 1 (April to July), Period 2 (August to November), Period 3 (December to March)

  1. Taxi fares are subsidized based on the amount used (only fare and pickup fees are subsidized)
    The fare discount system using a disability certificate (showing the certificate at the time of boarding results in a 10% discount) applies to receipts for fares (those with a date recorded). Receipts that do not utilize the fare discount system are not eligible for assistance.
  2. The gasoline price is 50 yen per liter
  3. The diesel fuel price is 30 yen per liter

Note: If you apply or lose eligibility during the middle of a period, the maximum payment amount will be 2,500 yen multiplied by the number of eligible months within the period.

The following cases are not eligible.

  1. In case of admission to the facility
  2. For use in commuting, attending school, or business

How to Apply for the System

Please prepare the following and apply to the Disability Welfare Division.

  1. Physical Disability Certificate or Love Certificate
  2. Transfer destination in the name of the person

Note: If you do not apply, even if you have the applicable certificate, you will not be eligible for the subsidy, so please be sure to apply.

Status Reports and Deadlines for Each Period

Benefits are provided based on status reports three times a year (August, December, and April).

  • Phase 1: The period from April to July must arrive by August 10
  • Phase 2: The period from August to November must arrive by December 10th
  • Phase 3: The period from December to March must arrive by April 10

Note: Reports that do not arrive by the deadline for each phase may not be eligible for benefits. However, submissions for Phase 1 can also be made in Phases 2 and 3, and submissions for Phase 2 can also be made in Phase 3.

The payment will be transferred to the designated account in late the following month after the reporting deadline.

How to Report the Situation

Please report using one of the following methods. We appreciate your cooperation in reporting online, which is a simpler procedure.

(1) When reporting online (recommended)

  1. Please scan the above QR code or click below to open the dedicated form.
  2. Please fill in the required information in the dedicated form, upload an image of the receipt, and submit it.

Note: Please keep the original receipt at home (for 5 years).

(2) When reporting by email

  1. Please download the Status Report (Excel data recommended) from below and fill in the required information.
  2. Please attach the data of the status report and the image data of the receipt, include the word 'GasTac' in the subject, and send it to the email address below.
  3. A confirmation email will be sent within 5 business days, so please check it.

Note 1: If there are multiple receipts, please photograph or scan them side by side.

Note 2: If you do not receive a confirmation email within 5 business days, please contact the Disability Welfare Division.

Note 3: Please keep the original receipt at home (for 5 years).

(3) If the above measures cannot be taken

Please attach the receipt to the 'Status Report' and the 'Receipt Attachment Form' before submitting.
