[Medical Care Outside Tokyo] Subsidy for Health Checkup Expenses for Pregnant Women Returning Home and for Multiple Pregnancy Health Checkup Expenses

(Note) Regarding the health checkup tickets for postpartum health checkups and 1-month-old infant health checkups, there is a possibility of receiving the checkups on or after October 1, 2026, and for those who submitted a pregnancy notification by March 31, 2026, the tickets will be mailed in late June.

(Note) For those who submit a pregnancy notification on or after April 1, 2026, the health checkup ticket will be issued at the counter.

(Note) Even if you have a Health Checkup ticket on hand, any checkups received by September 30, 2024, will be at your own expense.

The Parent and Child Comprehensive Support Center provides subsidies to those who have received maternity health checkups at medical institutions outside Tokyo, such as for returning to their hometown for childbirth, so please apply at the counter.
Note: Excludes medical institutions abroad.

Subsidy for Health Checkup Expenses for Pregnant Women (Returning Home, etc.)

Eligible for Subsidy

Those who have received a maternity health checkup at a medical institution or midwifery facility outside of Tokyo for reasons such as returning to their hometown
Note: However, medical examinations covered by health insurance and health check-ups for pregnancy determination are not eligible.

Subsidy Amount

1. First Maternity Health Checkup 11,670 yen (11,280 yen for checkups received until March 31, 2026)
2. From the second time onward 5,460 yen (5,280 yen for checkups received until March 31, 2026)
3. Pregnant Women's Ultrasound Examination 5,300 yen
4. Cervical Cancer Screening 3,400 yen

Those who received a newborn hearing test at a medical institution outside Tokyo for reasons such as returning home before reaching 50 days old

Those who, due to reasons such as returning to their hometown, have undergone a postpartum Health Checkup at a medical institution outside Tokyo within 2 months after childbirth, in principle

Note: It is necessary to have the medical institution record the checkup results on the examination slip. Along with the examination slip,please provide the following notification for medical institutions outside Tokyo to the medical institution.

Subsidy for 1-Month-Old Infant Health Checkup Expenses (Returning Home, etc.)

Eligible for Subsidy

Those who, due to reasons such as returning to their hometown, received the 1-month-old Health Checkup at a medical institution outside Tokyo between 21 and 41 days after birth

Note: It is necessary to have the medical institution record the Health Checkup results on the examination form. Please provide the medical institution with the notification below for medical institutions outside Tokyo along with the examination form.

Subsidy for Health Checkup Expenses for Pregnant Women with Multiple Births

Eligible for Subsidy

Multiple-pregnancy women who have undergone a pregnancy health checkup and are registered residents of Inagi City on the date of the checkup

Subsidy Amount

For each pregnancy health checkup, a maximum of 5,000 yen will be paid out of pocket. (Up to 5 times)

About the Application

Application Period

Within one year from the date of birth
(Note) If there are special circumstances for applying after one year from the date of birth, please describe the circumstances and reasons for the one-year delay in a statement (format is free) and attach it to the Application Form.

• Note 1: Completed submission documents (after the date of birth) can also be accepted at the Hirao and Wakabadai Branch Offices (excluding applications for the subsidy for health checkups for multiple births). For details regarding the content and attached documents, please contact the Parent and Child Comprehensive Support Center.
• Note 2 We will temporarily hold the original receipt (for about 3 to 4 months), so if you plan to submit it for your tax return, please apply with plenty of time to spare.

In the case of subsidies for health checkup fees for pregnant women, newborn hearing tests, postpartum health checkups, and 1-month infant health checkups

• Subsidy Application for Health Checkup for Pregnant Women Returning to Inagi City and Newborn Hearing Test
• A copy of the section in the Maternal and Child Health Handbook where records of Health Checkup for pregnant women are noted (Page for recording the progress during pregnancy)
• Receipts issued by medical institutions or midwifery facilities outside Tokyo for health checkups for pregnant women, which include receipts (stating the costs of health checkups for pregnant women, the date of the checkup, and the name of the medical institution or midwifery facility outside Tokyo), statements
• Unused examination tickets for Health Checkup for pregnant women and newborn hearing tests
• Completed examination tickets for postpartum health checkups and 1-month infant health checkups (Medical institution's examination records are required)
• Those who wish to apply for assistance with the costs of newborn hearing tests should provide a receipt (including the cost of the newborn hearing test), a statement, an unused newborn hearing test examination ticket, and a copy of the newborn hearing test record page from the maternal and child health handbook.
