On June 1, 2017, Mr. Yasumitsu Sato (9-dan), President of the Japan Shogi Association and a resident of Inagi City, who was awarded the Purple Ribbon Medal in the spring honors, paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Inagi City.
Mr. Sato has been appointed as the president of the Japan Shogi Association since February, and he is contributing to the shogi community while also achieving numerous victories in title matches and tournaments.
It was said that Mr. Sato lives in Inagi City because there is still a lot of nature preserved and the environment is good.
