Provision of Support Supplies to the Disaster Area of the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake

Additional support supplies were provided to Kumamoto City

On August 4 and 5, 2026, support supplies were delivered from the Nagamine Disaster Prevention Warehouse to Kumamoto City.

Regarding the support supplies, municipalities nationwide that offer assistance register the items they can provide on the IT platform "Logoform" established by Kumamoto City, and support is provided based on requests from Kumamoto City. Kumamoto City has requested support for the following supplies.

  • Drinking water (500ml × 24 bottles) 400 boxes
  • Blue sheets (bundles of 10 sheets) 54 bundles
  • Alpha rice meal kit (50 servings) 140 boxes
  • 50 portable toilets, 50 portable tents, 50 boxes of toilet disposal bags (60 bags × 4 uses)
  • 1 set of water circulation shower
  • 2 sets of water circulation type handwashing stands

Additionally, there was a further request for support as detailed below, and we provided assistance accordingly.

  • Masks: 66,000 pieces
  • Hand sanitizer (500ml) 100 bottles
  • Diapers (19 newborn, 19 size S, 38 size M, 114 size L, 38 big size) 2 boxes
  • Adult diapers (72 size M) 12 boxes, (45 size L) 13 boxes

Provided support supplies to 2 cities and 1 town in Kumamoto Prefecture

Based on the occurrence of an earthquake with a maximum seismic intensity of 7 around 4:27 p.m. on July 28, 2026, centered in Uki City and Hikawa Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, we conducted status inquiries to municipalities with significant damage within Kumamoto Prefecture. We received requests for material support from Uki City, Uto City, and Hikawa Town, and delivered supplies on July 29.

 

The support contents are as follows.

  1. Uki City: Drinking water (1.5L × 8 bottles) 103 boxes
  2. Uto City: Drinking water (1.5L × 8 bottles) 103 boxes, diapers (19 newborn, 19 size S, 38 size M, 114 size L, 38 size XL) 6 boxes, baby wipes (24 packs) 6 boxes
  3. Hikawa Town: Drinking water (1.5L × 8 bottles) 48 boxes, individually packaged alpha rice (50 bags) 50 boxes, rice cookies (48 servings) 40 boxes, sanitary products (480 napkins, 672 panty liners, 100 breast pads) 6 boxes, mixer porridge (50 servings) 5 boxes
