To respond to increasingly complex and diverse disasters in recent years, the operation of small unmanned aerial vehicles (phantom 4 pro) began in FY2017, enabling rapid and effective firefighting activities by capturing images from the air at disaster sites. In FY2025, an all-weather drone (build flyer) will be newly deployed, allowing for early confirmation of disaster conditions within the city and search for lives even during bad weather such as immediately after a typhoon passes.
Drone operations are conducted by firefighters trained in drone piloting at disaster sites.

Usage Examples

  • Confirmation of the direction and extent of fire spread
  • Search for persons in need of rescue at water-related incidents
  • Aerial photography of the fire spread area during fire cause investigations
  • Sharing aerial footage at the disaster response headquarters during large-scale disasters to quickly grasp the disaster situation within the city
  • Capable of flying even in bad weather such as immediately after a typhoon passes
  • Confirmation of persons in need of rescue using infrared cameras at sites where visibility cannot be secured
  • Using the speaker function, provide situation explanations and announcements to persons in need of rescue

Note: Bold text is possible with build flyer
