Inagi City Career Experience - Recruiting Interns

Career Experience Overview

In Inagi City, we plan to conduct career experience programs to enhance students' awareness of occupations and deepen their understanding of City Administration.

(Note) With the establishment of the internship framework, the name has changed from the traditional "Internship" to "Career Experience," but there is no difference in the content.

"What kind of work do local government employees do?"
"Interested in work that can contribute to the community"
For those who have such thoughts, this is an opportunity to directly experience the atmosphere, environment, and working style of Inagi City Hall.

Career Experience Overview
Eligible Individuals
  • Be a student enrolled in a graduate school, university, junior college, or vocational school under the School Education Act. (Grade level does not matter.)
  • Those who can participate in the general meeting and all the scheduled days of the course they attend.
  • Persons whose affiliated schools can conclude a memorandum of understanding with Inagi City regarding career experience.

(Note) Applications must be made through educational institutions; individual applications are not accepted.

Number of Accepted People About 20 people (if there are many applications, document screening will be conducted.)
Compensation, etc. There will be no payment of rewards, allowances, travel expenses, data communication costs, or any other monetary compensation related to participation.
About Insurance Enrollment
  • The city is not responsible for accidents or injuries occurring during trainees' practical training or commuting.
  • In case trainees cause damage to the city intentionally or negligently, participants are required to enroll in liability insurance before participating.
About the Internship
  • The implementation period and time will be determined by the city.
  • The content of the internship will be within the scope of the city's operations and will be decided by the city with reference to submitted documents, etc.
  • You will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement to ensure that any secrets learned during the training are kept confidential both during and after the training.
  • If you require special accommodations to participate, please notify the Inagi City Personnel Division in advance.

Course Overview

On the first day, there will be a general meeting where all trainees gather, as well as a roundtable discussion with current staff members.

  • Inagi Newsletter Editing Work
  • "Inagi Newsletter" is a public relations paper distributed to all households in Inagi City.
  • You will experience article proofreading and other tasks carried out by staff of the Secretarial and Public Relations Division.

  • You will assist in preparing for the briefing session for census surveyors.
  • In some cases, you may be asked to accompany the on-site survey of the survey area.

  • Participation in the Inagi City Festa at Giants Town Stadium 2025
  • You will assist customers at the Inagi City PR booth and wear a mascot costume to liven up events.
  • On the day, activities will be conducted outdoors. Please come dressed in comfortable clothing suitable for movement.
  • When wearing a costume, please take thorough measures against heatstroke, such as staying hydrated and replenishing salt.

  • In the morning, we will visit the "Children's Experience Workshop," a wide-area collaborative project conducted by Inagi City, Machida City, and Tama City.
  • The "Children's Experience Workshop" for fiscal year 2025 offers a musical experience, and participants will observe lessons held in Inagi City.
  • In the afternoon, you will experience tasks such as preparing budget estimation materials and data entry for the event schedule of fiscal year 2026.

  • Not only those currently enrolled in specialized courses in civil engineering and architectural technology, but also those interested in technical jobs and Community Development are very welcome!

Process to Participate

Flowchart of Participation Process

Participation in this career experience requires a recommendation from your affiliated university or school.
Please apply by following the steps below.

1. Download and Fill Out the Recommendation Form

Please download the recommendation letter (Word) from the link below.

  • Students, please fill in the reasons for your application and the self-promotion section on the reverse side.
  • After filling it out, please have the internship coordinator at your school fill in the recommendation section on the front.

2 Submission via Recommendation Form

After the internship coordinator at your affiliated educational institution fills out the recommendation section, please upload the recommendation letter using the recommendation form below and submit your application.

Application Acceptance Period

Until Monday, June 30, 2025

3 Document Verification and Notification of Results

We will conduct the selection based on the recommendation letters you have submitted and notify the results by email to the student and the internship coordinator at their school.

4 [Only for those who have been accepted] Submit the "Pledge", a copy of the "Internship Insurance", and the "Agreement"

Documents to be submitted by students
  • "Pledge"
    The form will be sent by email to those who have confirmed their participation.
    Please have the student create it and submit it to Inagi City by email.
  • Copy of Internship Insurance (Liability Insurance)
    In the event of an accident or other incident during career experience in the city, compensation from the city cannot be provided, so you must be enrolled in private insurance or similar coverage.
    Please submit a scanned copy of the enrollment certificate by email.
Documents to be submitted by the internship coordinator of the affiliated school
  • "Agreement"
    We will conclude agreements with each educational institution and Inagi City. Regarding the procedures, we will contact the internship coordinators of the educational institutions who applied through the recommendation form separately.
    Since this will be handled by mail, we ask for your cooperation.
    If you have submitted it from Fiscal Year 2022 onwards, submission is not required.

5 [Only for those who have been confirmed to participate] Participation in career experience

We will notify those who have been confirmed to participate of the necessary details for participation via email.

  • Please note that the course content and schedule are subject to change depending on circumstances.
