Persons who fall under the following categories can cast absentee votes. In any case, you must be registered in the Inagi City electoral roll. Also, since mailing takes several days, please complete the procedures early.

Persons staying in municipalities other than Inagi City

On election day, those who are staying in municipalities outside of Inagi City due to business trips or travel will be eligible.
When you request a ballot from the Election Administration Commission of Inagi City, we will mail the complete set of ballots to your place of stay. You will then bring this set of ballots to the Election Administration Commission at your place of stay to vote. The form for the request (Absentee Voting Oath and Request Form) will be posted as the election approaches.
Note: Among the set of voting materials, please do not open the envelope containing the absentee voting certificate under any circumstances. Opening it will invalidate your vote. Also, you cannot fill out the ballot in advance.
Note: For more details, please see the page "Absentee Voting at Your Place of Stay."

Absentee Voting Period

From Wednesday, January 28, 2026 to Saturday, February 7, 2026
Note: Since the Supreme Court Judge National Review voting period starts on Sunday, February 1, the absentee ballot sets will be sent after February 1 to those who have requested the Supreme Court Judge National Review.

Note: Please vote early, taking into account the mailing period.
Note: For voting times and locations, please contact the Election Administration Commission at your place of stay.

Those who are hospitalized or residing in hospitals, nursing homes, etc., designated as absentee voting facilities.

This applies to those who are hospitalized or residing in hospitals, nursing homes, etc., designated as absentee voting facilities.
If you notify the staff of the facility, the head of the facility will request the ballot papers from the Election Administration Commission, and in response to that request, we will send the ballot papers to the head of the facility. After they are sent, you will vote within the facility following the instructions of the facility staff.
Note: For more details, please see the page on "Absentee Voting at Designated Hospitals, etc."

Persons who have difficulty moving due to severe disabilities and other reasons

Persons who meet certain disability criteria or are classified as requiring care level 5 are eligible. They can vote at home or elsewhere by mail, etc.
Note: For more details, please see the page on "Voting by mail and proxy registration system".

Persons who have voting rights on the election day but do not have voting rights on the early voting day

This applies to those who will turn 18 by the day of the election but are not yet 18 (are 17 years old) on the day of early voting. Reception will be handled at the early voting site. However, the vote will not be placed in the ballot box but will be cast by placing it in an absentee voting envelope.
