Sunday, July 20, 2025, is the House of Councillors election. To make the most of your valuable vote, please do not abstain and make sure to vote.

Those Eligible to Vote in Inagi City

In the House of Councillors election, the following people who were born on or before July 21, 2007, are eligible to vote in Inagi City.

  1. Those who have submitted a moving-in notification by April 2, 2025, and continue to live in Inagi City. Note: Those who submit a moving-in notification on or after April 3, 2025, cannot vote in Inagi City. Please contact your previous place of residence.
  2. Persons who moved out on or after March 2, 2025 (four months before the registration reference date of July 2, 2025) and who were continuously recorded in the Basic Resident Registration of Inagi City for three months or more before moving out

Note: Those registered in the electoral roll at their new address will vote at the new address. Also, after four months have passed since moving out, you will be removed from the electoral roll and will not be able to vote. If you are unsure where to vote, please contact us.

For those who have changed their address within the city <Correction after the election registration processing date is determined>

If you are registered in the city's electoral roll and have moved your address within the city, the registration in the electoral roll will be transferred accordingly.
In this election, if you submit a notification of moving within the city by Tuesday, June 17, 2025, you can vote at the polling station in your new address area. If you submit the notification of moving on or after Wednesday, June 18, 2025, you will vote at the polling station of your original address area.

Voting Admission Ticket Will Be Sent

Admission tickets for the House of Councillors election will be sent.
In addition, admission tickets will be placed together in an envelope for all members of the same household based on the records of the Basic Resident Registration and mailed.
When voting, please bring your admission ticket and check the polling station before you go.

You can vote without an admission ticket

If your admission ticket does not arrive, or if it is soiled or lost, you can still vote as long as your name is confirmed on the electoral roll. Please inform the polling station reception when you vote.

Children are allowed in the polling stations

Only children under 18 years old are allowed to enter the polling station together. Voters are requested to fill out the ballot paper themselves and place it in the ballot box.

If a child wishes to submit the ballot, the voter should also place their hand on the ballot paper and submit it together.

Proxy Voting, Braille Voting, Voting Support Card

At the polling station, staff will assist those who have difficulty writing without compromising the secrecy of their vote.
Additionally, visually impaired individuals can vote using Braille. Please do not hesitate to inform the polling station reception.
If you wish to use a voting support card, please download the form, print it out, fill in the desired support details, and present it to the staff at the polling station.

To Everyone Going to Vote

You can fill out the ballot paper with a pencil or similar writing instrument brought with you.

Also, please refrain from bringing pets (excluding guide dogs), including carrying them in your arms.

Order and Method of Voting

1st House of Councillors (Tokyo Constituency) Election

Candidate Name will be written. (The ballot paper is light yellow)

2nd House of Councillors (Proportional Representation) Member Election

Candidate Name or Political Party Name should be written. (The ballot paper is white)

If you cannot vote on election day due to work or leisure, please use early voting!

If you are unable to vote on election day due to work, leisure, or other reasons, you can vote at an early voting location (see Table 1).
Please note that early voting requires the submission of a written oath. The oath is printed on the back of the admission ticket, so please fill in the required information on each and bring it with you when you come.
Three locations are set up within the city. Voting is possible at all early voting stations.
Note 1: Even without an admission ticket, you can vote if your name is confirmed in the electoral register. However, you will need to fill out the required information on the declaration form provided at the early voting station.

Note 1: i Plaza does not have a dedicated parking lot. Also, there is no parking service for early voting.

Those who are staying outside Inagi City or are hospitalized/admitted to designated hospitals, etc., can vote by absentee ballot.

On election day, if you are staying in a municipality other than Inagi City due to business trips, travel, etc., you can vote at the Election Administration Commission of your location. In addition, if you are hospitalized or residing in hospitals, nursing homes, etc. designated as absentee voting facilities (Note 2), you can cast an absentee ballot at that facility. For more details, please see "Absentee Voting."
Note 2: Within the city, the designated facilities include City Hospital, Inagidai Hospital, Yomiuriland Keiyu Hospital, Denmark Inn Wakabadai, Minamiyama Rehabilitation Hospital, Inagi Shokichien, Inagien, Hiraoen, Sompo no Ie S Inagi, Sompo no Ie S Inagi Naganuma, and Sompo no Ie Inagi Yanokuchi. For information on whether facilities outside the city are designated, please contact those facilities directly.

Absentee Voting by Mail

People with certain physical disabilities and who meet specific requirements can vote from home by mail. For more details, please see "Absentee Voting by Mail and Proxy Voting System."

Voting by Overseas Election

This is a system that allows people residing abroad to vote in national elections.
Note: You must apply in advance and be registered in the overseas voter list.

Communication Board

For those who have difficulty speaking or find it hard to communicate verbally, a communication board with common inquiries at the polling station illustrated is provided.
Please use it at each polling station reception.

Election bulletins will be distributed to each household

Election bulletins containing candidates' backgrounds and political views will be distributed to each household.
However, please note that printing will only begin after the candidate registration closes on July 3, 2025, so it may take some time before distribution.
Election bulletins for Tokyo's elected and proportional representation members are posted on the bulletin page of Tokyo's special House of Councillors election website.

Counting Day and Observation

The vote counting will be held at the Comprehensive Gymnasium from 9:00 PM on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Voters in the Inagi City counting district who have completed the prescribed reception procedures can observe the process.
Please note that admission may be restricted if there are many visitors.
Note 3: Please note that the parking lot of the Comprehensive Gymnasium is charged depending on the usage time.
