Sunday, February 8, 2026, is the House of Representatives election and the Supreme Court judge national review. To make the most of your valuable vote, please do not abstain and be sure to vote.

Those Eligible to Vote in Inagi City

In the House of Representatives election, the following persons born on or before February 9, 2008, are eligible to vote in Inagi City.

  1. Persons who have submitted a moving-in notification by October 26, 2025, and continue to reside within Inagi City (Note: Those who submitted a moving-in notification on or after October 27, 2025, cannot vote in Inagi City. Please contact your previous place of residence.)
  2. Those who moved out on or after September 26, 2023, which is four months before the registration reference date for the electoral roll (January 26, 2024), and who were continuously recorded in the Basic Resident Registration of Inagi City for three months or more before moving out

Note: Those who have been registered on the electoral roll at their new address will vote at the new address. Also, after four months have passed since moving out, they will be removed from the electoral roll and will not be able to vote. If you are unsure where you can vote, please contact us.

Those Who Have Changed Their Address Within the City

Those registered in the city’s electoral roll who have moved within the city and submitted a Notification by January 17, 2024, can vote at the polling station of their new address. If the Notification of moving was submitted on or after January 18, 2024, voting will take place at the polling station of the former address.

Voting Admission Ticket Will Be Sent

Admission tickets for the House of Representatives election and the Supreme Court judge national review will be sent.
In addition, admission tickets will be placed together in an envelope for all members of the same household based on the records of the Basic Resident Registration and mailed.
When voting, please bring your admission ticket and check the polling station before you go.

The mailing of voting admission tickets is delayed

Due to various circumstances such as printing and shipping, the delivery of the polling station admission tickets is expected to be delayed, and they will not be delivered before the start of early voting. Delivery completion is expected around Wednesday, February 4.

Please note that you can still vote even if you have not received your admission ticket.

You can vote even without a voting admission ticket

At early voting locations and on the day of voting, you can vote even if your admission ticket has not arrived or if you have lost it.

You can vote if your name is confirmed in the electoral register at the reception. In that case, bringing identification documents (My Number Card, driver’s license, etc.) will make the procedure smoother.

Also, at the early voting locations, you will be asked to fill out the required information (name, address, date of birth, etc.) on a written oath before the reception.

Order and Method of Voting and Examination

1st: House of Representatives (Single-member district) Election

Write the candidate's name. (Ballot paper light blue)

2nd: House of Representatives (Proportional representation) Election

Write the party name. (Ballot paper pink)

3rd: National Review of Supreme Court Justices

Only if there is a justice you want to remove, mark an × in the box for that justice. (Review paper: bush warbler color)

(Note) Voting for the National Review of Supreme Court Justices will begin on Sunday, February 1.

Proxy Voting, Braille Voting, Voting Support Card

At the polling station, staff will assist those who have difficulty writing without compromising the secrecy of their vote.
Additionally, visually impaired individuals can vote using Braille. Please do not hesitate to inform the polling station reception.
If you wish to use a voting support card, please download the form, print it out, fill in the desired support details, and present it to the staff at the polling station.

To Everyone Going to Vote

You can fill out the ballot paper with a pencil or similar writing instrument brought with you.
Also, please refrain from bringing pets (excluding guide dogs), including carrying them in your arms.

If you cannot vote on election day due to work or leisure, please use early voting!

If you are unable to vote on election day due to work, leisure, or other reasons, you can vote at an early voting location (see Table 1).
Please note that submitting a written oath is required for early voting. The oath form is printed on the back of the admission ticket, so please fill in the required information on each and bring it with you.
Three locations are set up within the city. Voting is possible at all early voting stations.
Note 1: Even without an admission ticket, you can vote if you can be confirmed in the electoral register. However, you will need to fill out the required information on the oath form provided at the early voting station.

Note 1: Voting for the Supreme Court Judge National Review will begin on February 1 (Sunday). Those who wish to vote for both the "House of Representatives Election" and the "National Review" at the same time should come on or after February 1 (Sunday).

Note 2: i Plaza does not have a dedicated parking lot. Also, there is no parking service available for early voting.

Those staying in other municipalities or hospitalized/admitted to designated hospitals can use absentee voting

On election day, those who are staying in municipalities other than Inagi City due to business trips, travel, etc., can vote at the Election Administration Commission of their place of stay. Also, those who are hospitalized or admitted to hospitals, nursing homes, etc., designated as absentee voting facilities (Note 2) can cast absentee votes at those facilities. For more details, please see "Absentee Voting."

Note 2: Within the city, the designated facilities include City Hospital, Inagidai Hospital, Yomiuriland Keiyu Hospital, Denmark Inn Wakabadai, Minamiyama Rehabilitation Hospital, Inagi Shokichi-en, Inagi-en, Hirao-en, Sompo no Ie S Inagi, Sompo no Ie S Inagi Naganuma, and Sompo no Ie Inagi Yanokuchi. For information on whether facilities outside the city are designated, please contact those facilities directly.

Voting by Overseas Election

This is a system that allows people residing abroad to vote in national elections.

  • Note: You must apply in advance at an overseas diplomatic mission and be registered in the overseas voter list.
  • Note: The overseas national review system has been established. Due to the revision of the Supreme Court Judge National Review Act, overseas nationals can now participate in the national review. For details, please check the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications website.

Election bulletins will be distributed to each household

The election bulletin, which includes candidates' backgrounds and political views, is prepared in Tokyo after 5:00 PM on the official announcement day when candidates are finalized. After delivery to Inagi City, it will be distributed to each household.
Additionally, the election bulletin is scheduled to be posted on the special website for the House of Representatives election in Tokyo.

Counting Day and Observation

The vote counting will be held from 9:00 PM on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Komazawa Women's University Gymnasium for both the university and junior college.
If you are a voter in the Inagi City counting district and complete the designated reception, you may observe the counting.
Note: Entry to the school grounds is not allowed, so observers should come to the gymnasium from the perimeter road. (Cars are not allowed on the perimeter road. If you come by car, please walk from the parking lot.)
