In February 2025, 10 species were newly designated as nationally rare wild flora and fauna under the Act on Conservation of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (Species Conservation Act) by the Ministry of the Environment, bringing the total to 458 species.
Domestic rare wild animal and plant species are, in principle, prohibited from being captured, collected, or transferred based on the Species Conservation Act.
If you witness illegal activities such as capture, collection, or transfer (for example, listing on online auctions), please contact the Ministry of the Environment.
