Climate YOUTH Conference (Co-hosted by Fuchu City, Hino City, Chofu City, and Inagi City) Save the Earth! 100 Quests Climate Actions Considered by Future Generations

What is the Climate YOUTH Conference

Due to climate change, various problems such as abnormal weather are occurring on Earth. To address these issues, it is necessary for everyone to take action themselves.
Among them, the younger generation, who will bear the future, will be most affected by climate change. Therefore, in FY2024, the "Climate YOUTH Conference" was held, focusing on young people under their 20s from cities such as Hino and Fuchu, to discuss initiatives against climate change.

From FY2025, Inagi City will also participate, and together with young people from Hino City, Fuchu City, and Chofu City, we will hold the meeting with the aim of further concretizing the Quest (climate change measures undertaken by everyone) proposed at the previous meeting and creating opportunities for young people to take action themselves.
We are looking for participants to join us in carrying out the Quest for the Future.

What kind of activities will we do?

You will think about what you can do in response to climate change.
To that end, you will listen to lectures by people with deep knowledge of climate change and those who are actively engaged in related activities, deepening your understanding of climate change.
Through activities such as "seeing," "listening," "experiencing," and "exchanging opinions" regarding climate change, let's explore what you can do.

What are the benefits of participating?

・Participants range from high school to university students and come from the four cities of Fuchu, Hino, Chofu, and Inagi, so you can make friends outside of school!
・Since adults do not interfere with the opinions that come up, you can freely think and act with youth leadership!
・In the lectures, you can hear stories that are rarely covered in school classes!
You can tour facilities that are usually off-limits!
In the final session, participants will present the results of the year and be able to propose and communicate their ideas to adults!

As proof of participation in the activities, a "Certificate of Completion" will be awarded at the end of the final session.
It can also be used as a point of appeal for job hunting and university entrance exams.
