Notice of Inagi City Infertility Treatment Expense Subsidy Program

In Inagi City, infertility treatment expenses for assisted reproductive technology (in vitro fertilization and intracytoplasmic sperm injection) and advanced medical care are subsidized for women under 45 years of age at the start of treatment.

1. Eligible Applicants (Those who meet all of the following requirements)

1. From the start date of treatment to the end date of treatment, both spouses must have their Certificate of Residence within Inagi City (including common-law marriages)
2. Those who have been diagnosed by a doctor as having no or extremely low chances of pregnancy with treatment methods other than assisted reproductive technology
3. Women who are under 45 years old on the start date of treatment

Please note that assistance for the costs related to infertility treatment cannot be provided in the following cases.

1. In the case of infertility treatment using sperm, eggs, and embryos provided by third parties other than couples (including common-law marriages)
2. In the case of infertility treatment by a surrogate mother
3. In the case of infertility treatment using a surrogate mother
4. In the case of receiving infertility treatment by methods not covered by "health insurance" and "advanced medical care" (regardless of whether health insurance applies)

2. Eligible Treatments and Grant Amounts

Among "in vitro fertilization" and "intracytoplasmic sperm injection," which are covered by health insurance and advanced medical care, assistance is provided when a series of infertility treatments corresponding to any of ❶ to ❹ below are received. Applicants for ❶ and ❷ must first obtain approval or a decision from the Tokyo Metropolitan Infertility Treatment Expense Subsidy Program.

❶ Advanced medical care combined with reproductive assistance covered by medical insurance (only the advanced medical care portion is eligible for subsidy) [For those who started treatment before March 31, 2026]

When receiving reproductive assistance or advanced medical care covered by medical insurance (Note 1), a subsidy of up to 30,000 yen per session (Note 2) is provided for the advanced medical care portion. (The subsidy is applied to the amount after deducting the subsidy from the Tokyo infertility treatment expense subsidy program from the advanced medical care fees)

• (Note 1) Medical insurance coverage allows for up to 6 treatments per child if the woman's age at the start of treatment is under 40 years, and up to 3 treatments per child if the woman's age is between 40 and under 43 years.
• (Note 2) The counting of one session follows the Tokyo Metropolitan Infertility Treatment Expense Subsidy Program.

❷ Medically insured assisted reproductive technology and advanced medical care [For those who started treatment on or after April 1, 2026]

When receiving medically insured (Note 1) assisted reproductive technology and advanced medical care, a subsidy of up to 30,000 yen per session (Note 2) is provided for the out-of-pocket amount. (The subsidy is applied to the out-of-pocket amount after deducting the subsidy amount from the Tokyo Metropolitan Infertility Treatment Expense Subsidy Program from the out-of-pocket amount (Note 3))

• (Note 1) Medical insurance coverage allows for up to 6 treatments per child if the woman's age at the start of treatment is under 40 years, and up to 3 treatments per child if the woman's age is between 40 and under 43 years.
• (Note 2) The counting of one session follows the Tokyo Metropolitan Infertility Treatment Expense Subsidy Program.
• (Note 3) If you have received high-cost medical care benefits or additional benefits, the amount will be deducted from your out-of-pocket expenses.

❸, ❹ Assisted reproductive technology and advanced medical care due to exceeding the number of times (❸) or age limit (❹) under medical insurance coverage (unlimited times, under 45 years old)

If you receive self-pay treatment due to exceeding the age or number limits of the above ❶ and ❷ covered by infertility treatment medical insurance, and advanced medical care (if performed), a subsidy of up to 30,000 yen per session will be provided (unlimited times).

• Note: You cannot apply for overlapping claims from ❶ to ❹ for a single treatment.
