About Home Daycare Provider

The family-style childcare service (Home Daycare Provider) is one of the community-based childcare services, where Home Daycare Providers certified by the city care for children in a home-like environment.

Home Daycare Providers are individuals who hold qualifications such as childcare worker or teacher, or who have completed training designated by the city.

It features small-group childcare in a home-like environment, providing "care that is attentive to your child's growth and development, with a warm, family-like atmosphere."

There are many differences from Licensed Childcare Centers in terms of target children and usage methods, so when applying and using the service, please carefully read the information below as well as the "Guide for Using Childcare Centers and Others" and the "Guide to Childcare Centers and Home Daycare Providers," and contact us if you have any questions.

Guide for Using Childcare Centers and Others

Target Children

From 57 days after birth up to the 2-year-old class (until the end of the fiscal year in which the child reaches 3 years old)

Note: Children with food allergies, children who have experienced febrile seizures, and children requiring medical care cannot apply.

Note: When applying to use other facilities due to graduation from the 2-year-old class, occurrence of food allergies, onset of febrile seizures, facility closure, etc., additional points will be given in the usage adjustment process.

Childcare Location

Childcare is provided in dedicated childcare rooms in apartments, etc.

Opening Day

Monday to Friday

Note: We do not provide care on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, during the year-end and New Year holidays (from December 29 to January 3), or when the Home Daycare Provider is on annual leave (within 15 days) or summer vacation (5 days), as well as during training and meetings. During these times, substitute care will be provided at affiliated facilities.

Opening Hours

From 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Note: For those using short childcare hours, the usage time is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (up to 8 hours per day). For those using standard childcare hours, the usage time is within the opening hours according to the necessity of childcare.

Tour

If you wish to take a tour, please fax the tour application form (municipal designated form) to the Home Daycare Provider or send the same information as the application form to the Home Daycare Provider’s email address.

About Contracts with Home Daycare Providers

After receiving notification of provisional approval for use from the city, you will have an interview with the Home Daycare Provider and then enter into a direct contract to begin use.

Partner Facilities

When the Home Daycare Provider takes a vacation, attends training, or is otherwise absent, your child will be cared for at a partner facility.

If the partner facility is unable to provide care due to circumstances, alternative care will be provided at the Fifth Nursery School.

In addition, the partner facilities provide childcare support and consultation to the Home Daycare Providers, and the Home Daycare Providers and children participate together in events hosted by the partner facilities (such as activities and open playground days), interacting with children at the Childcare Center.

Childcare Fees

Childcare fees are free under the national and metropolitan systems.

Extended Childcare Fee

If those using short-time childcare exceed 8 hours, an additional Extended Childcare Fee will be charged.

Note: Extended childcare after 6 p.m. (outside of opening hours) is generally not provided.

Notes on the Use of Home Daycare Provider

Since there is no nurse on site, children with food allergies or those who have experienced febrile seizures cannot be accepted in principle.
If a child develops food allergies or febrile seizures after using the Home Daycare Provider, in principle, you will be required to apply for a transfer to another Nursery School. In the case of food allergies, until the transfer is completed, you will need to prepare a bento (Lunch Box) at home. In this case, the actual cost of the bento will be borne by the family.
We cannot take custody of your child's medication. Also, if your child has symptoms such as fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, they cannot be entrusted to us.
Home Daycare Provider enrollees are required to undergo a Health Checkup at the start of use and twice a year. Parents or Guardians should take their child directly to the designated hospital for the examination.
In the month you start using the service, you may be asked to pick up your child earlier as part of a "gradual adjustment" period. The duration and timing will be decided between the Parent or Guardian and the Home Daycare Provider, based on the child's condition and the Parent or Guardian's preferences.
If there are changes in your family situation during use, procedures will be required. Please check the next page, and if applicable, promptly submit the necessary documents to the Child Care Support Division. Also, be sure to inform the Home Daycare Provider.
