About Childcare Fees for Licensed Childcare Centers, etc.

Under the national and metropolitan systems, regardless of your child's age, number of children, or the income of the parent or guardian, the childcare fees for all children residing in the city attending Licensed Childcare Centers, etc., are free of charge.

Note: The monthly childcare fee is applicable, while extended childcare fees and fees for after-hours care are not included.

Note: From the 3-year-old class to the 5-year-old class, the childcare fee is 0 yen, but the meal fee is the responsibility of the Parent or Guardian.

Note: Licensed Childcare Centers, etc. refer to the following facilities (facilities where the city determines childcare fees based on the income of the parent or guardian).

• Community-based Childcare Services (Home-based Childcare Services (Home Daycare Provider), etc.)
• Certified Childcare Center
• New System Kindergarten

If you have outstanding childcare fees

If the designated childcare fee is not paid, the following procedure will be followed for reminders.

1. We will send a reminder notice and a demand letter.
2. Contact will be made to the Parent or Guardian's contact information (home, mobile, and workplace).
3. We will visit your home, Childcare Center, or workplace to collect any outstanding childcare fees.
4. In accordance with examples of local tax delinquency measures, delinquency actions such as seizure of property will be carried out.

Note: If the payment of childcare fees is delayed, late fees may be incurred.

Extended childcare fees

If you use extended childcare, please pay the extended childcare fee to the Childcare Center, etc.

Public

• Extended Childcare (Regular Use) 1 Person Monthly Fee 3,200 yen
• Temporary Extended Childcare (Irregular (Spot) Use) 1 person 500 yen (up to every 30 minutes)

Private

Please contact the implementing facility.

Note: For extended childcare (regular use), please pay the monthly fee directly to the Childcare Center even if you start using the service in the middle of the month.

Note: For those using short-time childcare, if you use the service outside the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, the temporary extended childcare fee (irregular (spot) use) will apply. (Monthly extension fees will not apply.)

Note: For households classified as level 1 or 2 (Public Assistance or exempt from Municipal Resident Tax) in the applicable month, there is a system for exemption from extended childcare fees. In principle, please apply in advance to the Childcare Center, etc. However, please note that temporary extended childcare (irregular (spot) use) is not eligible for fee reduction or exemption.
