About Fureai Forest

Q1: What kind of facility is it?

Inagi Fureai Forest is a Sound Youth Development facility. It is an outdoor facility (free of charge) used by elementary schools within the city and Sound Youth Development district committees as a place for educational activities and nature experiences.
On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from mid-March to June and from October to November, when there is no scheduled use, the facility is open to the general public and available for use by Inagi City residents. Overnight stays are only permitted when elementary schools within the city or Sound Youth Development district committees use the facility for educational activities or nature experiences during district or school open periods. Overnight stays are not allowed for the general public.

Q2: Can we have a barbecue?

There is a stove for cooking rice in a mess tin as part of educational activities, but it is not suitable for barbecues. We recommend bringing your own barbecue set.
We lend out utensils such as plates, pots, knives, and cutting boards. Please prepare your own ingredients and fuel (firewood or charcoal).
However, bringing in and consuming alcoholic beverages is prohibited.

Q3: I would like to use the Fureai Forest.

Anyone, whether from inside or outside the city, can use the facility on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays during the general open period.
However, if you wish to use the facility with a group of 10 or more people, please check in advance whether your desired date and time are available (contact the Children and Youth Division by phone), and apply using the reservation form below at least one week in advance. The total number of users for all groups combined is limited to 50 people.

Q4: Is overnight stay possible?

General public cannot stay overnight.
Use is only permitted during district and school open periods when city elementary schools or youth development district committees, etc., utilize the facility for educational activities or nature experiences.

Q5: I heard the entrance has changed. Is that true?

Since December 2014, due to construction on the metropolitan road, the previous entrance on the Wakaba General High School side has been closed, so please use the entrance on the Odara Street side.
Note: Although the Tama 3, 4, and 17 Sakahama-Hirao Line has opened, please continue to use the Odara Street side entrance for safety management within the facility.

There is parking for 20 cars, but during busy periods it may be full, so please follow the instructions of the manager in such cases.

Q8: How many cooking stoves are there?

There are 15. Please use the stove assigned by the manager in order of arrival.
Caution: The hearths (made of concrete blocks) will crack if water is poured on them, so please do not pour water on them under any circumstances.
