Inagi City has concluded an agreement with ENEOS Corporation regarding collaboration and cooperation on household used cooking oil recycling, and is conducting the collection of household used cooking oil.

Household Used Cooking Oil Recycling

Recycling Process

This is an initiative to reuse waste cooking oil.

The waste cooking oil collected by mobile sales vehicles from Keio Store and Keio Corporation is processed to remove impurities by the partner collection company, Yoshikawa Yushi Co., Ltd., and is recycled into products such as soap and ink by business operators.

In the future, recycling into "Sustainable Aviation Fuel" (SAF) is also planned.

What is SAF?

SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) is aviation fuel produced from non-fossil raw materials such as used cooking oil and animal fats.
Compared to fossil fuel-derived fuels, it can reduce the emission of CO2, a greenhouse gas.
ENEOS Corporation is working on initiatives to supply household waste cooking oil as part of the raw materials to SAF production plants in the future.
