Please dispose of swollen lithium-ion batteries on 'Hazardous Waste Day'

How to Dispose of Swollen Lithium-Ion Batteries

Products using swollen lithium-ion batteries (such as mobile batteries and other rechargeable appliances) should be disposed of on the monthly hazardous waste collection day.

Please note that items cannot be placed in the "Used Small Electronic Devices Collection Box" installed at each public facility.
Do not enter under any circumstances as it may cause a fire.

Also, mixing it with combustible or non-combustible garbage when disposing can lead to fires at waste processing facilities or vehicles.
Since there is a possibility that garbage collection may not be possible for an extended period, please do not put out hazardous waste on any day other than the designated hazardous waste day.

Precautions When Disposing

  • For terminals that are exposed, please insulate the terminals with tape or similar materials.
  • For items that are not exposed, please wrap them thoroughly with tape or similar materials. As expansion progresses, terminals may become exposed.
