The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will be the implementing body, and starting from Thursday, March 31, 2022, the operation of the "Tokyo Metropolitan Doctor Helicopter" will begin in the Tama region. A request has been made to each municipality to conclude agreements regarding the use of the landing and takeoff sites outside the doctor helicopter's airfield.
In our city, we have concluded agreements regarding the use of two out of the four locations specified in the regional disaster prevention plan as doctor helicopter landing and takeoff points (hereinafter referred to as "rendezvous points").

Temporary Suspension of Tokyo Doctor Helicopter Operations

Recently, Hirata Gakuen Educational Institution, which is responsible for the operation of the Tokyo Doctor Helicopter, has been unable to secure mechanics to board the doctor helicopter. As a result, there will be a 17-day suspension of operations in March 2024, and since an operator cannot be secured from April 2024 onward, the service will be temporarily suspended. Please refer to the link below for details.

A doctor helicopter is a helicopter equipped with medical devices and pharmaceuticals necessary for emergency medical care. It rushes to emergency sites with doctors on board, begins treatment on-site, and quickly transports patients to medical institutions.

What is a rendezvous point?

A rendezvous point is a location where a doctor helicopter takes over a patient from an ambulance, and life-saving treatment begins at the rendezvous point. By securing as many rendezvous points as possible near emergency sites, it leads to rapid transportation.
