Inagi City Junior Firefighting Club
What is the Junior Firefighting Club?
The Junior Firefighting Club is composed mainly of children and students from Elementary and Junior High Schools in the city. It aims to acquire knowledge and skills related to fire prevention and disaster preparedness, as well as to nurture fire prevention and disaster preparedness leaders who will support the community in the next generation.
The junior firefighting clubs in the city were established as follows: the Sakahama District Junior Firefighting Club in April 1982, and the Oshitachi District Junior Firefighting Club in December 1983. Subsequently, after reviewing the organizational structure, the ING Junior Firefighting Club was launched in May 2024 as the third district, creating a system that accepts club members from across the entire city.
What kind of activities do you do?
Discipline Training

In discipline training, participants learn basic movements such as lining up, saluting, and marching, and practice acting in response to commands. Through these exercises, they acquire discipline, manners, and cooperation, and develop the ability to act as a group.
First Aid Training

In first aid training, participants learn the basics of emergency care such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), how to use an AED, and bleeding control to prepare for injuries or sudden illnesses. This training helps them acquire the ability to act calmly in emergencies.
Initial Fire Extinguishing Training

In Initial Fire Extinguishing Training, participants learn the correct use of fire extinguishers and safe fire extinguishing methods to prevent the spread of damage when a fire occurs. Through the training, they acquire the ability to act calmly and understand the importance of fire prevention.
Fire Station Experience Learning

In Fire Station Experience Learning, participants tour a fire station and learn about the roles of fire trucks and ambulances, as well as the work of firefighters. By handling firefighting equipment and experiencing riding on a ladder truck, they deepen their understanding of fire prevention and disaster preparedness.
Disaster Prevention Facility Tour

During the disaster prevention facility tour, participants visit facilities such as disaster prevention centers to learn about preparations for disasters like earthquakes, fires, and wind and water damage. Through hands-on corners and exhibits, they deepen their understanding of the importance of disaster prevention and ways to protect themselves.
Participation in Disaster Prevention Drills

Participation in Disaster Prevention Drills involves taking part in community disaster drills, experiencing initial fire extinguishing, first aid, and shelter setup. Through participation in these drills, participants learn the importance of actions during disasters and cooperating within the community.
Participation in the Fire Department New Year Ceremony

Participation in the Fire Department New Year Ceremony involves joining the ceremony together with fire department personnel and local residents to raise awareness of fire prevention and disaster preparedness. Additionally, participants demonstrate the results of their regular training through marching and lining up.
Cooperation in Fire Prevention Campaigns

In cooperation with fire prevention campaigns, we patrol the community, distribute fire prevention flyers, create fire prevention posters, and call on local residents to prevent fires.
