Mr. Okawara emphasizes the positioning and meaning of mecha as characters, while Mr. Kawamori focuses on the characteristics, functions, and mechanisms as machines. They share the commonality of conceptualizing using three-dimensional forms. The discussion also sounded a warning about the current homogenization of design.
