Let's prepare methods to cool down <in advance>

It is common for anyone to feel frustrated when children do not listen.
However, when you have little time or mental space and are already under significant stress, even a small action by your child can trigger an outburst of frustration.
The illustration below is an example of cooling down. Prepare your own method in advance (not just in emergencies, but regularly).

If you find yourself unable to control your irritation and feel like you might take it out on your child, please consult the Child and Family Support Center.

When you are short on time or feeling stressed, find ways to effectively release your frustration.

  • Take a deep breath.
  • Count slowly.
  • Step away for a moment, such as going to the restroom.
  • Open the window and feel the breeze.
  • Wash your hands and face.
  • Wash the dishes.
  • Look in the mirror.
  • Play your favorite music.

If you have small worries or anxieties, consult with friends or family.
