Radiation and Radioactive Substances (Updated July 1, 2013)

In response to the accident that occurred at the Tokyo Electric Power Company's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, various measurements regarding radiation and other matters are being conducted by various agencies, and we would like to inform you about this.
Regarding the measurement of ambient radiation levels, the national government conducts monitoring measurements by aircraft as well as by vehicles, and the results of these measurements are published. [Please see the link below for the results measured by the national government].
Tokyo has been measuring ambient radiation levels in Shinjuku since before the earthquake, and after the earthquake, monitoring posts have been added in Edogawa, Kodaira, Koto, Ota, Adachi, Hachioji, and Chofu, with measurements starting sequentially.
In addition, we are lending measuring equipment to municipalities and conducting measurements of spatial radiation levels throughout the Tokyo area in 4 kilometer by 4 kilometer blocks. In the city, measurements are conducted at the "Inagi City Central Park Comprehensive Ground," and the results are published.
